The Promise Newsletter is the quarterly publication of the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children and is sent to all members in September, November, February, and June.
Do you have an article that you would like to have published in NJAGC's quarterly newsletter, Promise? If so, articles must be submitted by November 30, 2010.

NJAGC Needs You!
Are you an educator, parent, student, or someone else concerned about the needs of gifted students? NJAGC encourages you to share your knowledge and expertise with the gifted community by writing or recommending an article for the Promise Newsletter.
Promise Themes for NJAGC’s 20th Anniversary Year:
- What we’ve learned about giftedness
- Twenty years of gifted education in New Jersey
- Where are they now? New Jersey’s gifted youth as adults
- Favorite gifted moments and anecdotes
Suggestions:
- Maximizing gifted potential: Assessment, identification, curriculum, and instruction
- Comparing old conceptions with new research
- Scientific support for the academic, social, and emotional needs of gifted children
- Living gifted; the gifted family at home
- “Out of the mouths of (gifted) babes” or “(gifted) Kids say the darndest things”
- Who’s who in New Jersey Gifted Education
- G&T success stories, case studies, or poignant moments
- Unique problems, programs and/or projects for the gifted classroom
- Twice Exceptional learners

Promise provides members with information regarding:

- Ways for teachers of the gifted to network within the State and in their own regions

- Social/emotional issues
- Announcements about upcoming events
Articles can be short (250 words or less), or long, depending on the topic.

- All items for publication must be camera-ready, including all photos,* with appropriate captions.
- Please proofread carefully, especially names,* locations, etc., for grammar and punctuation. Ex. Insert a comma before the word “and” in a list of three or more items.
- Text should be in a Word document, Times New Roman, size 12.
- Do not bold, etc. This is done by the layout artist.
- Names of articles, books, etc. should be indicated by italics or underlining.
- Article must have a title.
- Article should include the by-line of the contributor.
- Include home or work phone number.
- Indicate whether the contributor is an educator (grade/program taught), parent, student, or other individual.
- Student contributors, please include student’s name, address, and phone number.
*Contributor is responsible for securing permission for publication of information/photos of minor children.
