Nominate a Student in Grades 3-6 for the
Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award
NJAGC,the state affiliate of NAGC, is pleased to announce the NAGC Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award program. The Green Family established the award to honor the memory of their young son, Nicholas, who died at age seven, as a way to recognize gifts and talents in young children. The award includes a $500 United States Savings Bond and a certificate. It is available to a student in each state in grades 3 through 6, who has distinguished himself or herself in academics, leadership, or the visual/performing arts.
Nomination:
Open nominations include self-nominations, nominations from parents, teachers, peers, and community and civic groups.
Selection Criteria:
- Students must be in grade 3, 4, 5, or 6 during the 2011-2012 school year.
- Outstanding student accomplishment may be in the area of academics, the arts, or leadership.
- Student applicants must submit a one-page, handwritten or typed composition about why they feel their effort is important and how they got interested in the area for which they hope to be recognized.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal, civic or religious leader must accompany the application.
Application Deadline:
